September 25, 2006 (New York, NY) -
ImpreMedia's Chairman and CEO, John Paton, has been named the
2005 'Media Executive of the Year', HispanicAd.com announced
at the 21st semi-annual Conference of the Association of Hispanic
Advertising Agencies in Miami on Wednesday.
In three years, Paton has revolutionized
the Spanish-language newspaper industry by creating the largest
Spanish-language print and online news publisher in the United
States. ImpreMedia publishes seven publications in six markets,
home to 16 million Hispanics - more than 37 percent of the total
U.S. Hispanic population. ImpreMedia provides Latinos with quality
journalism where and when they want to get their news: on the
go with our daily and weekly newspapers, at home with our weekend
residential publications and online through ImpreMedia Digital's
news sites.
"This
is the first time that a non-broadcaster wins this award."
Says Gene Bryan, CEO of HispanicAd.com. "I would like to
congratulate John Paton for this accomplishment. This is a tremendous
recognition by his peers in the industry."
Previous
recipients of the 'Media Executive of the Year' award include
Jim McNamara of Telemundo, Jerry Perenchio of Univision, Mac
Tichenor of Hispanic Broadcasting Corp./Univision Radio, Raul
Alarcon of Spanish Broadcasting System and Steve Mandala of
Telemundo.
"I
am honored to be recognized by my peers in the media and advertising
industry," says John Paton, who was voted 'Media Executive
of the Year' among 20 Media Executive nominees from the Hispanic
media industry. "This award confirms ImpreMedia's position
as a key player in the industry with a dedicated management
team producing excellent journalism through multi-platform quality
products and services in top Hispanic markets."
"I
also want to thank our executive team and our employees and
want to acknowledge all of them by accepting this award in their
name," Paton said.
