La Opinión names Ruben Keoseyan as Executive Editor

Veteran Journalist Takes Helm of Nation’s
Largest Spanish-language Daily Newspaper

Los Angeles, CA (September 15, 2004) La Opinión, the nation’s largest and most influential Spanish-language daily newspaper, has named Ruben Keoseyan as Executive Editor. Previously, Keoseyan served as La Opinión’s Managing Editor.

"My grandfather started this newspaper seventy-eight years ago with the mission to serve and inform the Los Angeles Latino community with the highest levels of journalistic integrity," stated Monica Lozano, Publisher of La Opinión. "Over the past several years Ruben has demonstrated his leadership in the newsroom, his dedication to editorial excellence, and his ability to inspire the staff to do their best work." Keoseyan began his career as a journalist for Televisa, the largest television network in Mexico. Later he relocated to Santa Barbara, California where he conducted the Spanish-language simulcast of the 6PM news for KEYT, an ABC affiliate. Subsequently, Keoseyan served as

News Director and Anchor for KSBY, an NBC affiliate, where he spearheaded the first Spanish-language newscast for Latinos in California’s Central coast.

Keoseyan was born in Mexico City, Mexico. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and a Masters degree from The American University in Washington, DC.
