Veteran Journalist will Lead Nation’s
Oldest Spanish-language Daily Newspaper
New York, (September 15, 2004) - El Diario La Prensa announced today the appointment of Pedro Rojas as Executive Editor for the nation’s oldest Spanish-language daily newspaper. Rojas is a veteran journalist who has spent close to thirty years in newsrooms, most recently as Deputy Managing Editor at La Opinión in Los Angeles. The appointment is effective September 23, 2004.

Prior to joining La Opinión, Rojas spent over twenty-five years at El Nuevo Día, the leading newspaper in San Juan, Puerto Rico. There he held a number of management positions including Managing Editor, Chief Copy Editor, Deputy Managing Editor.

Pedro Rojas was born in Moca, Dominican Republic. Rojas has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Puerto Rico and did graduate studies in Business Administration and Accounting at the University of Puerto Rico. He is a member of the Nacional Association of Hispanic Journalists and the Asociación de Periodistas de Puerto Rico.
