To mark this milestone, La Opinión
will publish two commemorative sections. On September 8, the
80th anniversary Días Festivos supplement will highlight
the 80-year history of La Opinión and look at
how Latinos are shaping the future of the region. In addition,
the many the independence celebrations of Latin American countries
will be showcased.
On September
16, the newspaper's anniversary date, La Opinión
will unveil an 80th Year Anniversary Pictorial Supplement with
archived photos from La Opinión's 80 years of news coverage.
From June
28 until September 16 for eighty consecutive days, La Opinión
is publishing a special series of historical front-page covers
highlighting the past eighty years' top headlines. In addition,
La Opinión has identified and is profile 80 rising
leaders in the community who are making a difference in southern
California.
