ImpreMedia Announces 8% Readership
Increase in Its Daily New York Newspapers

Latest Scarborough Release Reveals 49% Penetration Against New York’s Spanish Preferred Newspaper Audience

New York, N.Y. (July 25) – ImpreMedia LLC, the #1 Spanish language print and online news publisher in the United States, today announced that its El Diario La Prensa and Hoy Nueva York newspapers increased its combined unduplicated readership by 8% in the past year, according to the latest Scarborough report. This increase brings its unduplicated daily readership to more than 413,000 readers, resulting in a market penetration of 49% against the Spanish-preferred newspaper audience in the New York DMA.

“Coming off the impressive circulation gains recently reported for El Diario La Prensa, the readership results of the combined New York newspapers is an outstanding reflection of our product’s vitality, particularly against the 4% readership decline experienced by the overall New York newspaper market,” said Rossana Rosado, El Diario’s publisher. “The new combined readership generates a very powerful presence for ImpreMedia; 49% market penetration in one of the largest and most important Hispanic markets in the nation offers great efficiencies for our advertising partners.”

Rosado added “the readership gains experienced by both newspapers symbolize our dedication to providing high quality journalism, valuable content and continuous product innovation. We take enormous pride in producing publications that reflect the needs and aspirations of our Hispanic community. This commitment to our readers provides an audience that is highly engaged with our product creating a dynamic environment for local and national advertisers.”

As of September 2006, El Diario La Prensa has paid circulation of 51,251 copies daily, up from 49,322 in September 2005, and 36,081 copies on Sunday, up from 33,135. The paper has over 294,769 daily readers, according to Scarborough.
