Los Angeles County’s 8th Annual Diversity Employment Day Career Fair Brings 1,500 Candidates Together with Over 40 Major Employers

LOS ANGELES (July 2, 2008) La Opinión, the country’s #1 Spanish-language daily, partnered with Los Angeles’s Diversity Employment Day Career Fair, to celebrate their eighth year of diversity career fairs. The first of the two-part 8 th annual Diversity Employment Day Career Fairs took place in June at the Embassy Suites Hotel, LAX North. The second career fair will take place in Orange County on July 15.

The employment fairs are produced by City Career Fair and hosted by the Diversity Recruiters Network.org. La Opinión is represented as the event’s exclusive Spanish-language media partner and sponsor the featured “Bilingual and Hispanic” Pavilion.

The L.A. career fair attracted over 1,500 highly qualified candidates from the multicultural and diverse communities of Greater Los Angeles County. Hundreds of career opportunities were offered from such industries as high-tech, financial, healthcare, government, law enforcement, education, entertainment, sales, non-profits and more.

“Candidates found the career fair to be very helpful with so many employers in one spot and most of them facilitating face-to-face interviews on the spot,” said Neal Morrison, Diversity Recruiters Network.org Board Member.

The second Diversity Employment Day Career Fair will be offered in Orange County on July 15 th at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Santa Ana, 1325 Dyer Road, 92705. The event is free and open to the public. Times are from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Participants are suggested to bring plenty of resumes and business attire is required. Attendees can expect employers such as Northrop Grumman, Long Beach Memorial Hospital, Cox Communications, Coca-Cola, Walgreens, Kraft, Home Depot, La Opinión and more. La Opinión will also sponsor the O.C.’s “Bilingual and Hispanic” Pavilion.
