Robert Parker Named General Sales Manager for impreMedia’s
RUMBO in Houston, TX
Houston, TX (March 27, 2008) - RUMBO, impreMedia’s No.1 Spanish-language newspaper network in Texas with newspapers in Houston, San Antonio and the Rio Grande Valley, today announced the appointment Robert W. Parker as the General Sales Manager for the Houston property.
“Bob brings a wealth of advertising and marketing experience to RUMBO. We are excited to have Bob lead the RUMBO Houston team,” said Lynne Cooke, Interim General Manager for RUMBO Houston.
Mr. Parker will be responsible for managing the local and regional advertising business for RUMBO’s Houston market. Mr. Parker will also represent RUMBO in the Houston Hispanic and advertising community, and will report directly to the General Manager of RUMBO Houston.
Most recently, Mr. Parker, served as the former director of suburban and key sales account for the Houston Chronicle Publishing Company, a division of the Hearst Corporation. Mr. Parker has held a number of senior executive positions including director of niche and Hispanic product development for the same company. With the Gannett Corporation’s Saint Louis Post, Mr. Parker spent over 10 years in executive management, corporate and field training and development positions as director of national sales and director of retail sales.

Robert Parker is a graduate of Howard University with B.A. in Broadcast Management. He is a past recipient of the Press Time 20 under 40 awards for newspaper excellence, a two time National Newspaper Association Minority Fellowship winner, a former Fellow of the Maynard Institute of Journalism Education, a Board Member of the Houston Better Business Bureau, a member of the 2007 Houston Minority Business Council’s Strategic Teaming and Alliance (STAC) and Professional Service Committees, an active member of the Houston Galleria Chamber of Commerce, and author of the Pocket Guide to Professional Selling.
