Ad Age Hispanic Fact Pack 2008 Edition
Advertising Age's fifth-annual Hispanic Fact Pack includes data about marketers' 2007 ad spending by company and category, demographic trends, and rankings of top TV, radio, newspaper, magazine and online media. Expanded information on digital media and how it is used by Hispanics is also included. As U.S. ad-spending growth virtually ground to a halt in early 2008, the $4 billion U.S. Hispanic market continued to post small but respectable gains. In 2007, Hispanic ad spending grew 4.2% while the general market was essentially flat at 0.2% growth, according to TNS Media Intelligence. The biggest Hispanic surge was in Internet media, up 36.3% in 2007.

2008 National Survey of Latinos: Hispanics and the 2008 Election
According to a nationwide survey of 2,015 Latinos conducted by the Pew Hispanic Center, from June 9 through July 13, 2008, Hispanic registered voters are more inclined to support Democrat Barack Obama for president over Republican John McCain by 66% to 23%. In addition, Latino voters have made a sharp transition into the Democratic camp in the past two years. About 65% of Latino registered voters now identify with or lean toward the Democratic Party, compared to 26% who identify with or lean toward the Republican Party.

Hispanic Radio Today: How America Listens to Radio 2008 Edition
In a new report from Arbitron and Scarborough focusing on radio listening trends in the U.S. Hispanic community, the number of Hispanic stations reached another peak, with stations in every region of the country. The report showed that Hispanic Country listeners had higher education and higher income levels than Country listeners nationally. Also revealed, was the major at-work increase in listening to Spanish variety, between Spring 2006 to 2007 from 21% to 30% respectively.

Naturalizations in the United States: 2007
According to the Annual Flow Report by the Office of Immigration Statistics, the number of Mexican-born immigrants who became U.S. citizens increased to 122,258 in 2007, up from nearly 84,000 the previous year. California and Texas posted the largest gains. Salvadorans and Guatemalans also showed increases in the number of citizenships attained, at a time when the overall number of naturalizations declined by 6%.
