Vertis Finds Hispanics Are Tech-Savvy Consumers
A new study from Vertis Communications titled “Customer Focus OPINIONES” found that U.S. Hispanic adults are just as likely, and in some cases more than likely to use technology as the non-Hispanic U.S. adults. The study also found that both U.S. Hispanics and non-Hispanics hold the same comfort level in providing credit card information online; however, U.S. Hispanics are more likely to turn to online communications after reading direct mail than non-Hispanics. “As the biggest minority group stateside, the burgeoning buying power of the Hispanic population is hard to ignore. U.S. Hispanic online shoppers are forecasted to lay out $12.8 million on retail spending in 2007, comprising 11 percent of all online retail expenditures expected this year, according to "Demographic Profile: Hispanic Shoppers Online, 2007," a Jupiter Research report. Hispanics will spend more this year than all minority groups assessed in the report, including African Americans ($9.2 million) and Asian Americans ($6.7 million).”
